Celcom’s customers will be able to enjoy seamless communications upon the completion of Celcom’s core network integration into a single network. This is made possible with the deployment of a Mobile Softswitch solution from Ericsson.
This major enhancement will reduce Celcom’s network complexity and operating costs and bring greater flexibility for new service deployments. Essential upgrades are also being made to enable Mobile Number Portability (MNP) for the benefit of consumers.
“After the upgrading and network integration activities are fully completed, the terms 2G and 3G will be redundant - all our customers will be on the next generation of services and service delivery,” said Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, Chief Executive Officer, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad. “This will especially benefit our high-end users and business customers, who require 100% availability and reliability at all times and tailored solutions.”
